Proposed Corporate Music Event Venue in Melrose
F.A.C.T.s and thoughts:
Given the impacts in the regions where they operate, we ask the public to look closely at the true impact here, not the promotional rhetoric. The owners and operators of the proposed Event Venue have not held a public meeting regarding their plans for the county or the Melrose Community and it appears that local jurisdictions elsewhere are unable to place meaningful limitations on their activities.

"Informal talks brought up the possibility of hosting the Hoggetown Medieval Faire at the sight. Mayor Harvey Ward said Gainesville would like to have the faire within city limits, but with land constraints, he said the city might look further afield."

FL SR 26 Road Work
Overview
Milling and resurfacing on State Road 26 from east of State Road 200 (U.S. 301) to State Road 21 began Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
The project includes milling and resurfacing, base work, drainage improvements, curb and gutter, sidewalks, signalization, signing and pavement markings, and other incidental construction.
V.E. Whitehurst & Sons, Inc. was awarded the $5.9 million project.
Traffic will be maintained in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation design standards throughout the project. Work is expected to occur daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
